Street-spec Ninja available with WorldSBK-inspired colour scheme.

The WorldSBK season may be over for 2015, but teams and riders have been non-stop at various Spanish circuits as they busily prepare for the 2016 campaign.

Tom Sykes and new World Champion Jonathan Rea are riding the new ZX-10R with the Kawasaki Racing Team’s customary ‘Winter Test Edition’ livery.

The Japanese marque has now gone one step further by offering the black and silver colour scheme to its customers, as the road-going Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R KRT ‘Winter Test Edition’ is available on the market. This accompanies the KRT Edition, which is inspired by the more familiar green and black in-season livery as seen in WorldSBK.

“For some years we have been asked if there will be a special ‘Winter Edition’ of the Ninja ZX-10R,” explains Kawasaki Motors Europe’s Shigemi Tanaka. “This seemed like the perfect time, with such success for Jonathan Rea and the racing team in the World Championship plus the launch of a brand new Ninja ZX-10R for 2016 that is the result of a joint development between KRT and the Kawasaki factory in Akashi.”

At significantly greater speed than what is witnessed on the road, the race-going Ninjas of Rea and Sykes – complete with their ‘Winter Test Edition’ liveries – will be back in action as testing continues at Jerez next week.
